SEO for a new website: structure, indexing and launch checks

SEO starts before publication, with useful pages, clear URLs and content that search engines can access. Use this practical order of checks when launching a website.

Map pages to visitor needs

Identify distinct services and catalogue sections. Give every URL a primary customer question. Avoid near-identical pages created by rearranging keywords. Titles, descriptions and copy should match the real offer.

Check technical access

Important pages should open without a login and return content rather than errors or placeholders. Check robots.txt, accidental noindex directives and canonical URLs. HTTPS must work. URL changes need an agreed redirect plan.

Prepare languages and internal links

Use separate URLs and reciprocal hreflang links for complete language versions. Ordinary navigation links should connect services, projects and articles. Images need appropriate dimensions, descriptive alternative text and stable addresses.

Review data after publication

Submit the sitemap in Google Search Console and inspect important URLs. Monitor indexing exclusions, search queries and visits. A sitemap aids discovery but does not guarantee indexing or rankings. Content and website quality need continued attention.

Frequently asked questions

Is adding keywords enough?

No. Usefulness, relevance, technical access and clear structure matter. Repeating a phrase does not replace valuable content.

Does structured data guarantee top rankings?

No. It describes actual page content and must match visible information. It does not guarantee a position.
